Questions candidates ask us
-
Is BlueThrone fully remote?
Yes. Our team works remotely across multiple countries and time zones. Every role has a practical collaboration window, which we'll discuss with you early in the process.
-
Do you hire internationally?
Yes. We hire remotely across many countries, although there are a few locations where we're unable to hire due to legal or operational reasons. If there's ever a limitation for your country of residence, we'll let you know early in the process.
-
What type of contract do you offer?
We work through permanent B2B agreements.
This means you join us as a self-employed contractor rather than as a traditional employee. It’s a long-term, full-time setup with a fixed monthly payment, NOT freelance or project-based work.
You’ll work as part of the team, with the same ongoing responsibilities and ownership as everyone else.
-
Can BlueThrone employ me through a standard local employment contract?
No. Our standard setup is a permanent B2B agreement, where you work with us as a self-employed contractor rather than through a local employment contract.
If you prefer an employment-style setup, you can explore options such as an EOR or local incubator in your country. This would need to be arranged on your side and agreed with us in advance.
-
Do you offer visa sponsorship?
We do not provide visa sponsorship.
Our roles are remote, and candidates need to be legally able to work as independent contractors from their country of residence.
-
What language do you speak in the company?
English is our working language.
Interviews, meetings, documentation, and day-to-day communication all happen in English.
-
Do you offer internships?
At the moment, we don't offer internship or graduate programmes.
Our open roles are for people with the experience listed in each job description.
If this changes in the future and we launch an internship program, we'll share new opportunities on our careers page.
-
Why do you ask for a video introduction?
We believe a great conversation starts before the interview. Your CV tells us about your experience and what you've done. Your video helps us understand how you think, communicate, approach challenges, and reflect on your experiences. Every CV and video is reviewed carefully by our People Team and the Hiring Manager.
We don’t assess appearance, accent, background, or video production quality.
If your experience is a match, the next step is still a live conversation with our recruiter.
🚨 The video doesn't replace the interview with recruiter - it helps us make it more meaningful.
-
Can I skip the video introduction?
The video is part of our standard application process.
It helps us get to know you beyond what's written on your CV and gives us a better starting point for the hiring process.
If your application is a match, the next step is still a live conversation with our recruiter - the video doesn't replace it.
If you're experiencing a technical issue or have an accessibility concern, please let us know and we'll do our best to help. -
Who will watch my video?
Your video is reviewed by our People Team and the Hiring Manager responsible for the role. Together with your CV, it helps us understand your experience, how you communicate, and how you approach different situations before deciding on the next step. -
What if I'm not a native English speaker?
That's absolutely okay. English is our working language, but we're interested in clear communication - not a particular accent or flawless grammar. We know our team comes from many different backgrounds, and we're much more interested in your ideas and experience than sounding like a native speaker.
-
Do you use practical assignments?
Some roles include a practical discussion, portfolio review, system design session, or live exercise. We don't believe in lengthy take-home assignments that require hours of unpaid work.
-
Will I receive feedback, and when?
We do our best to close the loop with every candidate. Feedback timelines depend on the stage of the process, but you'll always know where things stand - even if we need a little more time to make a decision.
-
How do you store my video?
Your video is stored securely as part of your application in our recruitment system and is only accessible to the people involved in your hiring process.
We do not use candidate videos to train AI models or for any purpose unrelated to recruitment.
We process your data in accordance with GDPR, and you can request access to or deletion of your information at any time. For more details, please see our Data & Privacy page.
-
How do you use AI in recruitment?
We use AI to support administrative tasks like note-taking, summarising interviews, or improving internal workflows.
Applications review and hiring decisions are always made by people not algorithms.
-
How do you handle my personal data?
We use your personal data only for recruitment-related purposes and handle it in line with our Data & Privacy page.
You can request access to your data or ask us to delete it. We’ll process those requests in line with applicable legal requirements.
-
Can I apply for more than one position?
Absolutely. Although we recommend focusing on the role that most closely matches your experience. If we believe you'd be a stronger fit elsewhere, we'll let you know.
-
Can I apply again if I wasn't selected?
A "no" today doesn't mean "no forever" 🙂
We generally recommend waiting around six months before applying again, especially if you've gained new experience or skills that are relevant to the role. -
